Day 24 - 20 lbs in 24 days! Elephant #1 has been eaten!

ABOUT ME
Q. How do you eat an elephant?
A. One bite at a time.

"I dare you to take a bite." — Me

I DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT! I ate my first elephant! CHOMP. CHOMP. CHOMP. Goal number one (to lose 20 lbs in 30 days) has been achieved in an amazing TWENTY FOUR days; 6 days ahead of schedule! Caveat - the juicing definitely kick started me due to the complete lack of sodium with the exception of naturally occurring in cucumbers, apples, ginger and watermelon - which isn't much. So that's why the quick 1 day plunge again. Chances are VERY good that when I start eating solid food tomorrow (yes - raw, vegan) that I will put a bit back on again. But that's OK - I got my benchmark and am continuing the overall downward trend.

Wow - we really can psych ourselves out of things AND/OR into things can't we? When something seems daunting we can just talk ourselves right out of even trying. I'm glad I've gone deaf to my self-doubt and somehow psyched myself INTO this. Twenty five days ago I would never have believed that I could be 20 lbs thinner in such a short period of time. I am in a world of gratitude to my raw, vegan guru KC who has kept this interesting, challenging and delicious. She is helping me stretch myself in ways I was believing I could no longer do (I was buying into the middle age slide bullshit). I'm in better physical shape than I've been in in YEARS and will end up being in the best physical shape of my life.

So tell me - what do you WANT out of life? What do you WANT for yourself? Why DON'T you have it? Why AREN'T you doing it? People this is not a dress rehersal. Tick tock. Tick tock. You don't get a "do-over" or an "undo". You must, you simply MUST start now. No more "One of these days I'll..." or "Someday..." sayings belong in your vocabulary. Delete them permanently. Leaf through "The Last Lecture" by the late Randy Pausch who did his best to leave no stone unturned and embrace the beauty and joy of life; in the face of pancreatic cancer. DO IT! Whatever IT is for you. DO IT. START IT. Waste not another moment for you may not have tomorrow. And - most of all - don't be afraid of elephants. They are delicious. Just eat them a bite at a time and don't try to stuff too much in your mouth. Slow and steady stays the course... Be a rock. I am.

Here's the AMAZING news:
